I’ve honestly never been a fan of oats that much.. until the other day when I made them on the stove, with the best ingredient combo I have EVER tasted! Usually I would make them in the microwave when I have them hot and it just doesn’t have a nice texture when made that way, for me personally anyway. So stove top for me always now.
Today is the 1st of June, which means day one of ‘Junk Free June’. My boyfriend and I were mean’t to be doing it, but he has failed within less than 24 hrs because he couldn’t resist having a slice of cake.. hopeless. So guess it’s just me now 🙂
So here’s the recipe, (typing this with my beautiful kitty, Ivy, snuggled in between my legs.. she must be getting cold too!)
1 cup almond milk
1/2 cup oats
1 banana (mashed)
1 tsp pics peanut butter (the only peanut butter I will eat from the supermarket)
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Any fresh fruit or other toppings you want, I’ve used coconut, cacao nibs and banana.
- Add all ingredients except agave into a pot on medium heat
- Bring to boil, I like my oats not to dry so just take them off when they are cooked to your liking.
Top with your favourite toppings, and of course some agave!
Seriously sooooo good.. I’ve eaten it 4 times within 2 days this week!
Enjoy! And I hope everyone is giving Junk Free June a go! It’s raising money for the cancer society so go ~ sign up ~ if you haven’t already 🙂
